    • Served as Edwin Rowan Sexton. Listed at Archives New Zealand as SEXTON, Edwin Rowan - [a.k.a. SEXTON, Edward Rowan]. Typo on the Nominal Roll, name spelled as Rown AWMM
    • Sister of Mary Kathleen Sexton (born 1893, Waimate Plains NZ - Died 1976 Hamilton NZ), Son of James Sexton (born 1855, London England - Died 1933 Auckland NZ) who married Eliza Cole in 1879 London England (Born 1855 London England - Died 1927 Auckland NZ).

For information, Mary Kathleen Sexton married William Carroll in 1916 Auckland NZ (Born 1888 Te Aroha NZ - Died 1964 Hamilton NZ). Both are buried at Newstead Cemetery, Hamilton NZ.

For information, I attended Mary Kathleen Sexton's (my Grandmother) Funeral, aged 13, in Hamilton. The source I quote states she died in Wellington, 1976. I believe this is incorrect - she died in Hamilton, which I have stated above. Public - Kevin David - Other Relative - 27 March 2015 - Family Record of Ancestry, prepared by Edward Joseph Carroll on 27 March 1994, son of William Carroll and Mary Kathleen Sexton, nephew of Edwin Rowan Sexton.

  • Edward Rowan Sexton was my Great Uncle (My Father's, Mother's, Brother). As he was killed in Battle, with no children, it is appropriate that he be remembered with dignity and respect in this, the 100th year anniversary of his death, the same day as I 'discovered' his existence. Lest We Forget...
