  • Sid was my grandfather. I knew him as a farmer and race horse trainer. We would visit his farm and catch eels and shoot rabbits. We would feed the animals hay on cold and crisp winter mornings. We talked very little about his time in war but he was featured in a TV series called 'New Zealand at War' in the mid 1990s.
