  • Basil was born in Hokitika on 29 January 1924. Basil had four brothers and two sisters.

    On 14 April 1947 he married Melvina May Mills in New Plymouth. They have two daughters; lived in New Plymouth, were keen gardeners and enjoyed fishing.

    Basil died on 14 October 2005 following surgery for a broken hip. AWMM
