    Three brothers served in WW1 - two served with New Zealand forces: Murdoch McLeod (1/010) and Stuart McLeod (80884) and serving with the British force Douglas Norman McLeod (24263); in WW2 the younger son and brother William Robertson McLeod (5618) served.

    Douglas's service medals and memorial plaque are held in the Waipu Museum.
