  • Another year, and we remember fondly the birthdays on this (25 April) your very special day. Today we are in Melbourne with Jane and family and one of the girls was asking about your involvement in the war.
Yes, the memories live on ...... forget we will not.
    Public - Graeme George - Child - 25 April 2023
    Report
  • Over the past few years my Mum and Dad and my family have attended the ANZAC Service at Templeton in Christchurch. This is where my Grandad, George William Weeds lived and brought up his family. It’s funny how time takes us back to our roots and now I live there with my family... I teach at the local school which my children have both attended. It is the same primary school my Dad and his sister went to. My children have both proudly marched in the parade on more than one occasion, wearing my Grandad’s war medals. ANZAC Day was also his birthday and today he would have been 107 years young! ANZAC Day is a very special day for us... we often reflect on our memories of our grandad and enjoy listening to Dad’s stories of his childhood. He may be gone... but never forgotten. One of our many heroes of war... lest we forget. xx
