  • You were my great-uncle I never met as you fell in the Battle for Broodseinde 100 years ago today, 4th October 1917. You are remembered with fondness and great pride by your Sherlock family.
    Public - Susan - Other relative - 4 October 2017
  • Only recently have I discovered about you and your brothers participation in the Great War. Your sister, Edna was my nan, but unfortunately I never had any conversations about her childhood or siblings. I learnt of your existence when organizing and researching for a family reunion. I may not have grown up knowing of your great sacrifice, but am extremely honored and proud to have learned a bit about you and your brothers, Edward and Lawrence. I have recently become involved in my local RSA and helping in creating exhibits based on memorabilia re WW1, and am in awe of the courage of our men. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.
    Public - Judith - Other Relative - 24 March 2015
  • I have always remembered you from my Nana Nellie Gertrude Campbell {nee Sherlock} Your photo in the sitting room. Also from Other family members. We are all proud of the sacrifice you did for our country
    Public - Judith {Judy} Ann - Other Relative - 1 February 2015
