However, I did grow up knowing a few of my aunties and uncles and of course our father, mother and koro Pita Pataua Iwihora. Hokinga Mai to Aotearoa on August 2018, to those of us who greeted and welcomed you home on our marae, kainga, urupa, whanau, hapu, iwi; we are all in your debt for how you and uncle Bill William Iwihora served and paid the ultimate price for our safety and security into the future. You came home 60 years to the day you died. It was our privilege and duty to embrace you in a way worthy of you and the other fallen soldiers who were bro

I recall my Father your second to youngest brother Kopa talking to us about four of his brother's going off to War 2 returned home to Aotearoa / New Zealand and 2 were lost to the war effort. I am honored and privileged to call you my Uncle and I know my Dad was proud of all his brother's so I say to you Uncle naumai haere mai to your kainga your whenua your Whaanau, Hapuu, Marae Hoki -
