    • She was the daughter of William and Louisa Higginson (Source: Public source, 17/08/2015)

      Prior to enlistment she was working as the Matron ar Wairoa Hostpital. She also served onboard Hospital Ship, Grantully Castle as matron and later Carisbrooke Castle. Higginson returned to New Zealand in August 1919. Throughout her service Louisa wrote a diary, which is held by the Alexander Turnbull Library: MS-Papers 2477-1. AWMM
