    Rank at end of WW2 2nd Lieutenant. Regiment: NZASC. Rank at death: Captain.

    He was promoted for Gallantry in Italy. He was commissioned with effect from 17 July 1944. Reference: Personal Records of NZDF ARCHIVES. Also document advising of recognition signed by F. Jones Minister of Defence: dated 6th January 1945. Notification was also placed in the NZ Gazette. AWMM
