  • Lieutenant Drummond was serving on a paddle minesweeper (Ascot class, Pennant No. T32) clearing channels to Ostend and Zeebrugge when it hit a mine, loosing the bridge and port side of the ship, which was towed ashore east of Ostend before the bow section broke off. Two officers and seven ratings were killed.
