    Mrs. W. H. Payne, eldest daughter of Mr. A. A. Fromm, has received information from the Defence Minister that her husband, Captain W. H. Payne, commanding the Australian Wireless Squadron in Mesopotamia, is dangerously ill at Bagdad. Captain Payne was traffic manager of the Amalgamated Wireless Co. of Australasia in Sydney before enlisting, and some years ago was on the staff of the Gisborne telegraph office.
