  • Uncle Dudley was like an Uncle to me, though we didn't speak much i truly felt loved by him. He was very loving and will miss having a laugh or two with him.

  • Uncle Dudley was a quiet and unassuming man who was very close to his brother James Claude Harris who was my grandfather. Four brothers went to world war 2 war but only 3 returned. He played rugby league for Otahuhu and was a very keen follower of any team that represented NZ. Dudley was the last remaining returned service men from Otahuhu but couldn't attend ANZac ceremonies because the march was too quick and he would be left behind. Uncle Dudley was a beautiful man who missed his wife and his older brother dearly when they 'left him' as he would say. I want to acknowledge this great man and brave soldier for his courage and wit and love. He will never be forgotten and I am so proud to say he was my great uncle. Moe mai re e te Rangatira. Rest well in the arms of your loved ones xxxxxx
