    Promoted Corporal, 9 July 1917.
    Proceeded overseas to France, 23 July 1917; joined 2nd Bn, NZ Rifle Brigade, in the field, 24 August 1917, and posted to D Company.
    Reported missing, 12 October 1917.
    Classified Killed in action, 12 October 1917.
