  • Obituary
    E. M. Stewart, of Nuhaka, the brother of our townsman, W. Stewart, was in the firing trench this morning, and taking an observation through a loop-hole, was shot in the eye and killed instantly. Strange to say he was nearly smothered yesterday by the trench falling in upon him, when he remarked that if he was to die he would prefer to die like a soldier! Public - Lorraine Mona - Researcher - 8 June 2023 - IN GALLIPOLI TRENCHES.
