  • Claude Stokes was the only son of Frederick and Matilda Stokes, of "Claudeville," Cameron St., Onehunga, Auckland, New Zealand.

    Auckland Museum’s inward correspondence (Ref. Nos. MUS-95-43-17 and MUS-95-42-3-1) notes an attempt by the grieving mother of the above soldier to place a photograph of him in the museum. It was written on her behalf by a friend, Emily Bourne, also of Onehunga (1928). AWMM
