  • I live in Flanders and in agreement with Jack's family, grandniece(s), I adopted Jack's grave. I'm privileged, proud and humbled I can do so for "my soldier boy" Jack Street. I so visit Jack often and pay tribute to him in simple reflection, or with a flower, reciting the Ode, sounding of Last Post and Anthem. Jack ever since 1917 is resting in the soil of my country, and as his fallen comrades have become our boys, he is my soldier boy now. From Flanders to the Uttermost ends of the Earth, we so are united in remembrance. NOT FORGOTTEN.

  • On the 1.5.2018 Jack Street's Great Niece, Neroli visited the Rakaia War Memorial in the centre of Rakaia's Township. There she laid a poppy on the cenotaph. The Last Post was sounded. Neroli read the Ode and the Reveille was then played in remembrance of Jack and all the others that gave their lives in sacrifice to their fellows at arms.
The morning was still, overcast and a little foggy. A fitting time for remembrance.

  • I am growing some red poppies this year in your memory. Your memory is continuing to live on in our family as your older brother Geoffrey named his first son Jack (who was my father) after you.
    Public - Linda Ann - Other relative - 15 September 2016
  • Jack Street is the older brother of my grandfather who was Leonard Langley Street. He had another brother Bernard Street who also fought later in WW2 in North Africa. I have only just learnt about Jack. He looks just like my Uncle John who lives in Hawarden, North Canterbury. RIP Jack and sad to have lost a fine young kiwi but so pleased for my family to learn of you.
