Taffs, who enlisted from Gisborne with the 9th Reinforcements, died of wounds , on November 4th in the severe fighting in which the New Zealand Rifle Brigade recently took part. His parents reside at Kingston-on-Thames, London, but he had spent some years in New Zealand, and, lived for some time in Gisborne, where he had many friends, who will regret to hear of his death. He was wounded in France two years ago, and invalided Home, joining the Signalling section later on, and returned to the front in April of this year.
