  • Family records about Hudson Armand Bramley and his 5 or 6 brothers are held at the Kaeo museum in Northland. When I visited there some 15 years ago there was a photo of the family displayed on the wall. Hudson was my great-great-grandfather (or possibly great-great-uncle, I would need to check). He was either grandfather or great uncle to my granddad Alan Bramley, who is the father of my my mum, Georgina (Joy) Blake (nee Bramley). From the photo of Hudson Bramley, the family resemblance is very clear; I could easily mistake the photo for one of my granddad when he was much younger. I have just today visited my granddad in hospital, along with my sons, Connor & Joseph Blake. They are lucky to have a great grandad. He is now 89 and very ill with cancer. It is very special to visit the museum and make the link back as we reflect on the good life that my granddad has led. -- Adam Blake
