    • Son of John and Elizabeth Talbot, of Woodlands, Temuka. AWMM
    • Brother of well known New Zealand mountaineer & alpine explorer - Arthur Ernest Talbot (1878-1917) - later Lieutenant Arthur E. Talbot : NZEF service # 14037 of the Canterbury Infantry Regiment - who was killed in action on 12 October 1917 - at Passchendaele, Belgium. Grave-Talbot Pass and Mount Talbot, in the Hollyford Valley, South Island, New Zealand are named after this mountaineer/soldier.
