    "Came to School at the age of twelve, having previously been at Hurworth, where he remained until December, 1911. He had definitely decided to take law for a profession, and was studying in an office at Palmerston North when he enlisted. He left New Zealand with the Fifth Reinforcements, and was reported wounded and missing at Gallipoli on August 8th, 1915, his death being subsequently confirmed."
