    A recent fist contained the name of Rifleman C. S. Thorburn, who is reported to have been killed in action. Rifleman Thorburn was assistant clerk at the Magistrate's Court at Gisborne for five months prior to his enlisting with the 17th Reinforcements, in Mav, 191:6.He was .attached to G. Company, Wellington Infantry Battalion. His mother resides at Thames. Rifleman Thorburn was a promising young man. and earned the esteem of many during his .residence in Gisborne Public - Lorraine Mona - Researcher - 11 June 2023 - ROLL OF HONOR.
