  • I recently found out about Charles Frederick Thorby, through researching about his younger brother (my paternal great-grandfather) on Anzac Day, 2015. I had had no previous knowledge of Charles Frederick Thorby, as I was only told of Walter William Thorby by my mother. It is interesting to find out that two ancestors of mine were involved in WW1, instead of just one. Charles Frederick Thorby is buried in Jerusalem and I plan to visit one day.
