Joseph was my grandfather and I feel very proud to read details of his war experience. My father was his youngest child, a baby when his father left for war, his name was Patrick and he knew very little of his father. All our family have been aware of Joseph's name on the Waipawa clock memorial but reading more information has made it a lot more real and we now feel the connection. Thank you to whoever made this possible, we are very grateful and we shall never forget what he has done for us all.

I am your grand nephew descended through your sister Gisellsa Theresa Lambert (nee Breuer) and Alfred Ocean Lambert (2nd) my grandparents. My father is David Breuer Lambert (your nephew) and my mother Verna Maude. Thank you for your service and sacrifice during World War One. I know very little about your family or your descendants. My wife and I have visited your father's (my great grandfather) Adolf Breuer's birthplace, Gelnica, Hungary (now part of Slovakia) and found some of the graves of our ancestors in the local cemetery as well as around the church where our family worshipped. R.I.P Great Uncle Joseph (Joe).

Thank you for giving your life for the generations that follow.
It's really sad that your Grand Children never had the chance to know you.
Also your 8 children you left behind.
From your Great Granddaughter
Joan
