  • I was told that I was named after David Turnbull who was my great grandfather (i.e. my mother's (Julia's) grandfather . David's daughter, Jean, was my grandmother). I have fond memories of David Turnbull's wife, my great grandmother, Francie Turnbull, who lived with us when I was a child and who died when I was 15. David and Frances Turnbull had a son (Alexander, also known as Alec) and a daughter (Jean, my grandmother). Both are now deceased.
