  • This is my great uncle, son of Kathleen Newsham Twomey and John Twomey. His brother, my grandfather, Roy William Twomey, also fought in WW! but returned to New Zealand. Hugh Michael(Mick) did not. Family lore has it that he was found with his rosary beads in his hand. He was a pupil of Sacred Heart College, Auckland.
