    Joined Canterbury Infantry Bn, Gallipoli, 9 August 1915.
    Disembarked, Alexandria, 30 December 1915 (general Gallipoli evacuation).
    Embarked Port Said, 6 April 1916, and proceeded overseas to France.
    Wounded in action, and admitted to No 13 General Hospital, Boulogne, 9 July 1916; embarked for England, 10 July 1916 (gun shot wound head, chest, hand), and admitted to Bethnall Green Military Hospital, 11 July 1916; transferred to NZ Convalescent Home, Hornchurch, 21 August 1916.
    Admitted to No 2 NZ General Hospital, Walton-on-Thames, 5 January 1917.
    Found guilty, 13 January 1917, of (1) being absent without leave, (2) being on a licensed premises while a hospital patient, (3) being in possession of a khaki uniform while a hospital patient: awarded forfeiture of 2 days' pay.
    Found guilty, 22 January 1917, of (1) being absent from parade, (2) being absent without leave until 2245 hours, (3) breaking rules of camp: awarded forfeiture of 1 day's pay.
    Admitted No 2 NZ General Hospital, Walton-on-Thames, 28 February 1917.
    Died, No 2 NZ General Hospital, Walton-on-Thames, 8 March 1917 (meningitis and erysipelas).
