  • Adopted son of Mrs. E. Cripps, of Auckland.

    The memorial plaque was issued to all service people who had died during the war and was sent out to the next of kin .The plaque is made of bronze and is 120mm in diameter. The inscription on the plaque has the following "He (or she) died for freedom and honour". In the near centre of the plaque is the name of the serviceperson.A memorial scoll was also sent in conjunction with it which had the details of the serviceperson on it.

    Auckland War Memorial Museum Scars on the Heart " Remember" display. Display item is a memorial plaque and an envelope containing a letter to his next of kin. The envelope is marked "Return to Sender". AWMM
