    Struck off the strength of Otago Mounted Rifles, 13 March 1916; posted to No 1 Company, NZ Machine Gun Corps.
    Embarked for France, 6 April 1916.
    Admitted to No 1 NZ Field Ambulance, 13 December 1916 (influenza); transferred to No 1 Australian Casualty Clearing Station, 16 December 1916; to No 2 Australian General Hospital, Wimereux, 19 December 1916.
    Embarked for England, 16 January 1917; admitted to No 1 NZ General Hospital, Brockenhurst, 18 January 1917.
