He was my Grandfather whom i knew nothing of until 2009, I now know you did not desert your wife and children, simply, as we were told to return to New Zealand, but, you went to do the thing you had spent most of your adult life doing, being a soldier and prepared to die for your Country, although this meant traveling 12,000 miles to enlist in the NZEF as part of their newly formed artillery unit.
