    • Son of Annie Watson later Everett, stepson of Albert Everett.

      Attended Nelson College.

      Seven children served from the same family in WW1: three sisters were serving as nurses Claire (22/538) and Dorothy (22/537), and Viola (AIF ); three brothers George Gordon Everett, Gerald Gordon Everett(2/215) Frank Gordon Everett (2/2117) and step-brother, Ralph Watson served as soldiers. AWMM
    • Ralph Watson enlisted for war service on 21 August 1915 with his step-brother Frank Everett of Pokororo, Tasman District. They embarked together in October 1915 and trained together in Egypt. They remained together when they were posted to France. Ralph and Frank, both Gunners with the NZ Field Artillery were in the same NZ Artillery gun-pit at The Somme, France, when it was struck by a German shell. Ralph was killed and Frank seriously injured (he was discharged from further military service in February 1917). Frank returned to NZ and died in Brisbane in 1982.
