  • I am the great great neice of Leonard. His Neice is still alive she is 99, she is his Sisters Daughter.
Recently I found his dead mans penny in the Waihi Museum it had been lost somehow, his wife Jane had been admitted to Porirua hospital following his death, somehow she lost the medallion and it had been found down a drain in Waihi. My Grandmother got presented with it as his Neice and as a family we now treasure it. Unfortunately we have no photos of Len. Ionly knew it was his Medallion as Nana had always talked about her Uncle Len, and the grove of trees that were planted at Waterlea park in Blenheim each tree with a bronze plaque commemerating each soldier that was killed, she used to go with her Mum to place flowers on Lens plauqe.
