    • Edgar White was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John White, of Canongate St., Dunedin, New Zealand.

      New Zealand at the Front (a magazine written and published and illustrated in France by men of the New Zealand Division) 1917 issue, page141.

      Embarked Wellington, 15 November 1916; disembarked Devonport, England, 29 January 1917, and marched in to Sling Camp.
      Proceeded overseas to France, 1 March 1917; joined 1st Bn, Otago Infantry Regiment, in the field, 21 May 1917.
      Killed in action, 7 June 1917.

      Parents: Mr & Mrs John White, Canongate Street, Dunedin AWMM
    • Edgar was one of four brothers who served in the First World War - John (Jack) Phillips White, Robert Nicholson White and Philip Sydney White. Public - Paul - Researcher - 30 April 2021 - Hickford, Paul, They Marched to War, 2019, pp. 18 & 92.
