  • John Whitmore was the son of Emily Whitmore, of 6 Commercial Rd., Kingsland, Auckland, New Zealand, and the late Cornelius Ensor Whitmore. Native of Paeroa, Thames.

    Four sons, brothers Francis George Whitmore (12/2155); Henry Arnold Whitmore (13/2261); John Ellis Whitmore (6/3507); and Douglas Fred Whitmore (65488) served in WW1. Two brothers were killed in action.
