  • Robert White and Alastair Don were killed when the front of their vehicle, Romeo 2, 161 Bty, was blown up by a command detonated mine.

    Formerly buried ar Terendak Camp, Malacca, Malaysia. Returned to New Zealand as part of the Te Auraki Repatraition Project in 2018.

    Memorial Flag - Presented to widow, Mrs Poko White of Auckland, received the New Zealand Operational Service Medal on his behalf from the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defence at a presentation at the Auckland War Memorial Museum on Thursday 27 November 2003.

    Killed in action - land mine.

    Remembered on the Papakura - Karaka War Memorial.

    The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) began repatriating the remains of personnel buried in Malaysia during 2018.

    This is part of project Te Auraki (The Return), under which the NZDF is bringing home personnel and dependants buried overseas after 1 January, 1955, following a change in Government policy.
