  • We remember John-all gave some/some gave all-I'm the 1st Grandchild to M.Audrey Winton-she visited Canada, met & married my Grandfather James S. Pengelley in 1928-visited her Winton family in New Zealand in the early 1960's & came back to Canada with happy memories of her visit-we were told of the devastating news of John's passing in the VietNam war in 1971-we've never forgotten that-it is wonderful to be able to see pictures of John posted online-my Grandmother passed in 1972 & my Mother M.Pauline (Pengelley) Northey in 2014-they corresponded with our Winton family in New Zealand & England regularly-I live where I was born & raised on the Pengelley Brockland farm in South Monaghan, Ontario where my Grandmother Audrey Winton is buried in our private family Pengelley Cemetery, an early settlers graveyard since 1837-our Winton & Pengelley family gave much military service-we are proud!
