Lieutenant W. H. Adair, whose death from wounds is reported from the Mediterranean theatre, was the only son of Mir. and Mrs. Harry Adair, Manutuke. He was 32 years of age, and is survived by Mrs. Adair, formerly Miss Barbara Hutchinson, and two infant children. Second Lieutenant Adair served for some time in New Zealand with a Territorial unit before being released for departure overseas, being one of a large number of officers who dropped their commissioned rank to serve abroad, and being re-commissioned after short service with the New Zealand Division in Italy. He was an old boy of Wanganui Collegiate School, and in later years took a keen interest in the Poverty Bay Hunt, Public - Lorraine Mona - Researcher - 20 June 2023 - ROLL OF HONOUR
