  • Charles Armstrong was the son of Charles E. and Eunice Armstrong, of Devonport, Auckland.

    Flight Lieutenant Armstrong joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force in June 1940.

    The New Zealand Herald of 3 August 1944 reported that he was missing on air operations. On 18 May 1945 the Herald reported that he was presumed dead.

    There is a reference to Tony Armstrong DFM in the diary of Sergeant Pilot Raymond Herbert John Broady (NZ39691) on 7 June 1942. [Ref. MS 883]
