  • Thomas McLew was my great great uncle. I note that his name is misspelt on the Langverwacht memorial where it is "McLow". His sister Anne McLew (1884-1968) married Alexander Murray (1871-1936) in 1903 and operated a shop in Waikouaiti. McLews also owned a large sheep run called Blue Moutain at Dunback for many years and McLew Road still exists. If you are interested in McLew genealogy feel free to contact me at [email protected]
