  • Trevor was my great Uncle. My Grandma had 4 or 5 brothers (?) that went off to war. All from the small farming district of Kaurihohore, just north of Whangarei. As was common, the war generation didn't talk much, if at all, about the war. What I was told by the next generation down (my father (Kevin Bell) and Aunty(Bev Rea)) was that Trevor was killed in an accident on the airfield, with an incoming aircraft hitting him as he made his way to his own plane.
