    He trained as a barrister.

    Flight Lieutenant Barker's brother, NZ41464 Pilot Officer Richard Percival William Barker, Royal New Zealand Air Force, died in an incident similar to Flight Lieutenant Barker's death on 22 December 1941. AWMM
