    • Albert Leonard Brittain (Len) was born in 1922 and was the youngest son in a family of 6 children. The family lived in Archibald Rd, West Auckland. He is the first cousin of Clarence Victor Tarlin (1897-1917) who died of wounds in France during the First World War at the age of 19 and who is also remembered on this website. Len's older brother Clarence Victor Brittain (1918-1990) was named in memory of his cousin Clarence Victor Tarlin who was the son of Frederick William Brittain's younger sister Clara Brittain Tarlin Jacobsen(1879-1950).
