Son of Thomas Robert and Theresa Brown of Auckland.Was employed by ABC Taxis of Whangarei.A keen follower of civil aviation before the war, he was for several years a flying member of the Mangere Auto Club.He was killed during the first Japanese offensive of Malaya.Brown was first buried at Taloek. Postwar he was reinterred in the Dutch war cemetery at Medan, but at a later date was taken to Java for final reinterment at Djakarta.
