  • CWGC site records that he was the son of Samuel and Lillian Isabell Brown, of Waipoua Forest, Dargaville, New Zealand.

    Private Brown died when he was being transported as a POW on the Sebastiano Venier (Jason) which was torpedoed off Greece.

    Listed in the Roll of Honour, died while prisoner of war in the Official history of New Zealand in the Second World War 1939-45: 21 Battalion AWMM
