  • Leonard Brown was the son of Thomas Samuel Brown, and of Sarah Brown (nee Finlay), of Warkworth, Auckland, New Zealand; husband of Eileen Margaret Mary Brown, of Rangiahua, Auckland.

    Leonard Brown lived at Okaihau for three years before he left New Zealand with the Third Echelon. He was a well known as an amateur boxer in Whangarei and was very popular and well-known in the district.

    He married just before his departure from New Zealand. AWMM
