  • Son of Edwin Arthur and Jane Henrietta Budd, of Auckland.

Budd is quoted in the 'Greece and Crete' section of the Auckland War Memorial Museum's 'Scars on the Heart' exhibition. It reads as follows:"Fritz had sent men to cross the river in boats but when halfway our chaps opened up and wiped them out. A few hours later he tried again with the same results, so he sent back for the heavier stuff and it was time for us to move." [Auckland Museum Library, Manuscript Collection: MS 836, Budd, Leslie William, Letter from Greece, 1941] AWMM
