  • Leonard Bartlett was the son of Frederick and Katherine Bartlett of Maungaturoto, Auckland.

    He attended Manurewa Primary School and then Otahuhu Technical High School from 1934 -36.

    At primary he played tennis and football, and at secondary played football.

    He was originally reported as wounded and missing. The family in August 1946 had never had any definitive news beyond that his death was now presumed. AWMM
