    Allen's brother, John Herbert Allen, died on 8 April 1941 while flying with 232 Squadron, RAF.

    The Auckland Museum Library's Manuscripts Collection contains a typed transcript (1 leaf) taken from a biographical series produced by the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) on New Zealand airmen and women that briefly outlines the flying career of Flight Sergeant Allen.
