  • Harold Allen was the son of George Allen and Lucy Allen, of 10 Warrington Rd., Remuera, Auckland.

    He attended King's College 1906-1907 and is commemorated in their Roll of Honour. He then went on to be a farm cadet and soldier. He had been two years at Duntroon and had passed the exam for Lieutenant before the outbreak of war.

    Commissioned 5 August 1914.

    2nd Lieutenant Allen was killed during the Battle of the Landing at Gallipoli. His body was later found, identified and buried, possibly in 1918.
