  • Thomas Brown was the son of James Albert Brown and of Sarah Elizabeth Brown (nee Mitchell).

    He was born in the Whakapara district and came north at the age of fifteen. He was of a quiet disposition and well liked by all with whom he came in contact.

    He left Kaitaia five years before and enlisted at Whangarei. He enrolled on the outbreak of war, and left with the First Echelon for Egypt. He was survived by four sisters. AWMM
