  • Son of Edith Steele Brunton and Lewis Brunton

    Alan Brunton died on board the Chakdina which was torpedoed en route to Egypt while carrying Allied wounded, including 120 New Zealanders.

    Notice of his death appeared in the New Zealand Herald on 18 December 1941.

    Alan Brunton's brother, George Mervyn Brunton (26455), served in the Pacific in World War 2. AWMM
